Youth Group Kick Off...

We had a great kick 0ff. We started out with a slip and slide waterballoon toss, then headed to the marshmallow in your mouth for 2 minutes spit and catch and ended back at the slip and slide crazy run. It was a lot of fun, but I was a bit disapointed, no one puked or got bloody. Oh, well you can't win'em all. I am so excited for this new school year. I pray that God totally invades these students lives.

Cibecue Mission 2008 Slideshow...

This is our slideshow from an amazing trip to Cibecue, AZ. Before you press play you will want to pause the music player which is on the right hand side of the page. Once you do that you can watch this video without any musical conflicts. Sit back, enjoy the video and praise God for working moving so powerfully during our time there.

Blessings on your day,

Pastor Scott

LIfe on an Apache Reservation...

Wow, what an experience. We have just gotten back from 10 days on the White Mountain Indian Reservation. We painted a church, one house and held a VBS for elementary age kids. Not to mention we baptized five of our group. Our students were stretched and grew closer to God and each other. I am so proud of these students for being willing to try new things and get out of their Dallas, Oregon box.

To God Be The Glory...

I have to take a moment to thank all of the leaders and students who participated in the 30Hr. Famine in April. We collected over 900 lbs. of food for the local food bank and raised over $10,000 for World Vision to stamp out hunger. Thanks to all of your efforts we raised the most money in all of Oregon and SW Washington. All of you are the best.

30 Hr. Famine...

What a great weekend we had at the 30 Hour Famine. We all stopped eating at 8am on Friday April 18th and didn't eat again until 2pm on Saturday April 19th. Our eyes were opened to what many go through in a given day. Over 29,000 children die every day to hunger related issues, that is one death every six seconds. That is a crazy number that I can't seem to wrap my brain around. We cannot be silent anymore. Not only did we go without food for 30 hours, but many of us made cardboard shelters and sleep outside. This help give us an idea, a mere glimpse, into what homeless people go through. We woke up to a God's reminder that He cleanses us white as snow.

On Saturday we woke up had some good time with God and headed out for work projects. Some went to the Union Gospel Mission to help in their thrift center, others headed to a retirement center to clean, some went to a church to help with spring cleaning and a large number of folks went out collecting canned food for the local food bank. In all over 900 lbs. of food was collected and more than $10,000 was collected to send to World Vision to help hungry children. What a great event. Once again it shows how coming together (Faith Evangelical Free Church, Salt Creek Baptist and Dallas Alliance Church) we can accomplish anything.

Blessings, Pastor Scott
